FDM Printing
In FDM printing, a spool of plastic filament is fed into a heated nozzle that melts and extrudes the material onto a build platform. The printer moves in specific patterns based on the digital model, gradually creating the object one layer at a time as the plastic cools and solidifies. SLA Printing
In SLA printing, a laser beam traces the design of each layer onto a vat of photopolymer resin, causing the resin to harden where the laser hits.
